What is the Life Path Number?
One of the most important numbers from the perspective of numerology is the Life Path number. With the help of Life Path Number, one can understand their personalities, Challenges, and Opportunities one will encounter during this lifetime. Since this is related to your date of birth, this number helps you to identify the momentum and direction of your life.
How to Calculate the Life Path Number?
To calculate your Life Path number, You need to add your date, month and year. For example:
First, we reduce each unit (month/day/year) of the birth date to a single-digit or a master number (11,22 and 33).
Next, we add each of the resulting digits (or Master numbers) together and reduce the total again to a single-digit or master number.
Example 1: December 12, 1936
December is the 12th month. Reduce 12 to a single-digit. 1 + 2 = 3
The day of birth is 12. We reduce 12 to 3 (1 + 2 = 3).
The year of birth is 1936. We reduce 1936 to 1 + 9 + 3 + 6 = 19. 1 + 9 = 10. 1 + 0 = 1. The year 1936 reduces to 1.
We now add the resulting single digits.
month = 3, day = 3, year = 1. Total is 7.
The Life Path number is 7.
Example 2: November 22, 2000
November is the 11th month. The 11 is a Master number and is not reduced.
A 22nd day is also a Master number: 22.
The year 2000 reduces to 2.
month = 11
day = 22
year = 2
We now add the resulting single digits.
month =11, day =22 , year = 2, Total = 35
We reduce 35 to 8. The Life Path is 8.
Example 3: May 13, 2000
May is the 5th month. 5 is a single-digit number.
the day of birth is 13th. Reduce it to a single digit. 1+3 =4
the year 2000 reduces to 2.
we now add the resulting single digits.
Month : 5, day: 4, Year: 2, Total : 5+4+2 =11
Since 11 is a master number, we will not reduce it to a single digit. His Life Path number is 11, not 2.
KARMIC DEBT NUMBER
“Learning with Humility is the key- either you learn it or repay & repent”
This sounds a little complex and scary isn’t it Karma, debt. But let me lay it down in the simplest possible way.
Karmic Debt number can come in any of your CORE NUMBER (Life Path, Birthday, Expression, Personality, Heart Desire). Numerology is based on the ancient idea that each of us takes re-birth as per our Past Karma. The good or bad result of this life depends on Past life deeds as well. The good get rewarded but the mistakes we committed need rectification. Such errors cause us to take on the additional burden in order to learn a particular lesson that we failed to learn in previous lifetimes. In numerology, this burden is called a Karmic Debt.
The two-digit numbers 13, 14, 16, and 19 are called Karmic Debt numbers. When these numbers found in the core numbers (The Life Path, Expression, Heart’s Desire (or Soul Urge), Personality, and Birth Day), and in the various cycles during the course of your life, it creates unique challenges. Each has its own unique characteristics, and its own particular difficulties.
While adding all the numbers Date, Month and Year as per the above method if the resulting number is 13, 14, 16 or 19 then we still add these numbers till single-digit to know the Life path number but these numbers (13,14,16 and 19) are called Karmic Debt Number.
For example: if someone born on May 13, 2002
May is the 5th month. 5 is a single-digit number.
the day of birth is 13th. Reduce it to a single digit. 1+3 =4
the year 2002 reduces to single-digit 2+0+0+2 =4.
we now add the resulting single digits.
Month : 5, day: 4, Year: 4, Total : 5+4+4 =13
His life path number will be 4 (1+3) but he also has Karmic Debt number 13.
In Numerology, we represent his Life Path Number is 13/4.
